Hayleigh Steele, DVM
Dr. Hayleigh Steele was born and raised in Indian Trial, North Carolina. She attended undergraduate at East Carolina University (Go Pirates!) where she received her B.S in Biology in 2018. Dr. Steele took a gap year once graduated from East Carolina and accepted her first job in veterinary medicine with Mercy Animal Hospital as a veterinary assistant. Dr. Steele then went on to NC State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in Raleigh, North Carolina, where she received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2023.
Dr. Steele decided to come back to Mercy Animal Hospital to start her career as a veterinarian. She has special interests in geriatric medicine and diagnostic imaging. She enjoys discussing your pet’s health and wellness and communicating treatment plans based on you and your pet’s specific needs and goals. She looks forward to meeting you and your fur babies.
Dr. Steele herself has four crazy four-legged kids, three cats and one Border Collie mix and their names are Rue, Luna, Seven and Zayne. In her free time, she enjoys watching a good Netflix series, buying new plants, and spending time with her family and friends.
