Our highly trained team includes 2 Veterinarians, a Practice Manager who oversees all hospital functions,  2 Technicians,  Receptionist and  2 Technician assistants.


Dr. Charles Jones gained his experience in clinical veterinary medicine in a variety of different settings. He was an intern in large animal medicine and surgery at the University of Tennessee, School of Veterinary Medicine for two years after graduating from Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1995. He then went to North Carolina State, College of Veterinary Medicine for a residency in food animal medicine for two years. This experience enabled him to learn the importance of diagnostic testing in veterinary medicine and gave him the opportunity to work with numerous veterinary specialists.


Dr. Charles K Jones' background experience includes sixteen years of clinical medicine as well as four years in post DVM programs where he worked with some of the top specialists and authors in the veterinary medical field. He will bring a high standard of excellence to the Mercy Animal Hospital. His future ambitions include getting board certified with the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners.


Dr. Dawn Jones has sixteen years of experience in veterinary medicine and has worked in the pharmaceutical industry as well as private practice. She worked for Merck Research Laboratories in West Point, PA upon graduation from Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1995 for almost a year as well as during the summers of veterinary school. She then worked for Animal Health Center, a private practice in Maryville, TN for two years. Her responsibilities included preventative medicine as well as medical and surgical management of diseases. She later worked at Bayleaf Veterinary Hospital in Raleigh, NC for two years with very similar responsibilities as well as emergency on-call. Then she began working as a relief veterinarian in the Charlotte, North Carolina area where she has currently worked in over fourteen veterinary practices. Working as a relief veterinarian and as a full-time on-call veterinarian has given her the opportunity to see numerous veterinary management styles as well as many medical and surgical workups. This experience has helped lay the foundation that will enable her to be an effective and wise practice owner.


Dr. Dawn Jones' background prior to veterinary school involves dental health care. Before attending veterinary school she worked in her father's dental office as a dental assistant and insurance administrator. This gave her significant health care experience in a professional atmosphere and allowed her to work directly with patients. During veterinary school and post-doctorate, she was involved with research laboratory animal medicine and then in small animal medicine. Her future career ambitions include getting board certified with the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners
